Octal Steel participated in the 25th NOG Energy Week Conference & Exhibition, held from July 5 to 9, 2026, in Abuja, Nigeria. Our presentation focused on OCTG casing and tubing, supported by our broader range of products for drilling, production and pipeline construction.

With a history spanning 25 years, NOG has developed into an established meeting point for Nigeria’s energy industry and international suppliers. The organiser’s post-event report recorded 11,000 attendees, 300 exhibitors and participation from 85 countries, bringing together policymakers, operators, contractors and technology providers.
Government involvement underlined the event’s importance. Contributions from Nigeria’s Ministers of State for Petroleum Resources responsible for oil and gas, alongside the President’s Special Adviser on Energy, connected industry discussions with national priorities. Investment, domestic gas development, infrastructure and local participation were central subjects.

Our main exhibition products addressed well construction and production requirements. Casing supports the wellbore and works with the cement system to help isolate formations. Tubing provides the conduit through which fluids are produced from the well.
Product discussions centred on dimensions, material grades, connections and inspection documentation. API 5CT provides requirements for casing and tubing, while selection must also account for the well’s pressure, temperature, corrosion exposure and loading conditions.
Our focus was to connect these requirements with supply considerations, including material traceability, connection compatibility, protective packaging and delivery coordination.

Alongside OCTG, Octal Steel presented its supply range of line pipe, drill pipe, pipe fittings, flanges and valves. These products support fluid transportation, drilling operations, piping connections and flow control across oil and gas facilities. We also introduced concrete weight coated pipe (CWC) for offshore pipelines and water crossings.
Our exhibition work focused on presenting product information, discussing applications and understanding procurement requirements. Exchanges with industry participants provided opportunities to clarify specifications, explain supply scope and identify subjects requiring further technical review.
Participation also helped us better understand how well development and pipeline infrastructure requirements connect in the Nigerian market, providing a basis for continued communication and project follow-up.

NOG reinforced the importance of combining suitable products with clear documentation and dependable delivery planning. For Octal Steel, the exhibition was an opportunity to strengthen industry relationships and bring market requirements into closer focus.
We will build on this experience through precise specification review, practical technical communication and continued support for customers in Nigeria and West Africa.
Q: What information is required for an OCTG quotation?
A: Specify casing or tubing, API 5CT grade and edition, outside diameter, wall thickness or weight, length, connection type, quantity and inspection requirements.
Q: How do you select the right OCTG steel grade?
A: Consider burst, collapse and tensile loads, well depth, temperature, fluid composition and corrosion exposure.
Q: How do you choose the right OCTG connection?
A: Match the thread and connection type to the pipe size, load requirements, sealing performance and well operating conditions.
Q: What quality documents should accompany API 5CT casing and tubing?
A: Request material test reports, dimensional and mechanical test records, applicable NDT reports and heat-number traceability, as specified in the purchase order.
